Melody Barnes is an anointed & multi-gifted singer/Psalmist, bringing to the world a fresh and new sound with a unique vocal blend of Jazz, Soul, R & B, and Traditional Gospel ... For a Refreshing Brew of Both The Classic & The Contemporary!
The Detroit native has an inborn passion for music and a re-born passion for souls! Although gifted in many areas, Melody remains focused and steadfast in the true purpose of the gifts as well as her evangelistic assignment... "I will take this “good news” message to the masses! I am not only called to go, but to carry the anointing for worship, praise, psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs in various musical styles that can be received by any and everyone."
Melody is not only a gifted singer, she is also a talented songwriter and budding producer, having co-produced and written all except one of the songs on her debut CD release, The Reason. She also has a wealth of experiences to draw from. By age of six, she had already made her singing debut on a live radio broadcast in her hometown. As part of the renowned Eastern Michigan University Gospel Choir, she has backed up Contemporary Christian artist Larnelle Harris and a host of other artists while traveling throughout parts of the United States. Over the years, she has also been afforded the opportunity to share platforms with many well known Gospel and CCM artists as, Angelo & Veronica, Gary Oliver, The Winans, Maurette Brown, Dietrick Haddon, and Byron Cage - to name a few. In addition, Melody has performed at such notable venues as, Washington's Kennedy Center, the U.S. Treasury Department, and on the Washington National Monument as a main stage artist at the National Black Family Reunion.
Melody's list of accomplishments also include both academic, having received a Bachelors Degree in Communications and Theater Arts, and artistic achievements, as a singer and performer in several gospel musical stage productions, two of which ran respectively at Washington, DC's historic Lincoln Theater and Maryland's celebrated Publick Playhouse. Also known as the "Melodious One,” you could frequently catch her as a featured guest host for the Victorious Life Today Radio Broadcast on Washington, DC's, Heaven 1580 AM. Along with her husband, Melody is the Co-founder of Free Indeed Worldwide, Inc., a non-profit charitable outreach organization to advance the community as well as the Kingdom!
